Kerry McClung

Supervising Attorney

Kerry is a proud double spider, graduating with honors from the University of Richmond's Westhampton College and T.C. Williams School of Law.  Throughout her career she has represented underserved and disadvantaged adults and children - earning her the Orrell-Brown Award for Clinical Excellence in the Children's Defense Clinic, Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2020 and 2021, and New World Report Family Lawyer of the Year (VA) for 2021.​

Kerry remains committed to helping those going through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether you're fighting for your kids, going through a challenging divorce, helping your aging parents, or recovering from a painful injury, Kerry's there to fight by your side.

 

When not helping individuals in the courtroom, Kerry continues to give back to her community. She is on the Executive Board for Beyond Boundaries and American Sign Language Champs, organizations that believe “adventure is for everyone” and teach sign language to anyone that wants to learn. She was also recently elected as the Secretary-Treasurer for the Lewis F. Powell Jr. Inn of Court. If you cannot find her at the office or volunteering, she is likely in her garden, hanging out with her dog, or enjoying time at the river.​

Kerry is licensed to practice in both state and local federal courts. 

Courtni Weaver

J.D. Assistant // Student Attorney

Courtni is a proud alumna of Virginia Union University and recent University of Richmond School of Law graduate. While at UR Law, Courtni was the president of the Black Law Students Association for two years, created the Anti-Racist Taskforce, and worked with the Henrico Circuit Court. This summer, Courtni is clerking with Justice Powell in the Supreme Court of Virginia.

When working with us, you will most likely work with Courtni on personal injury, estate planning, and probate cases.

Beyond work, Courtni is a track coach at St. Catherine's, an advocate for ending the school-to-prison pipeline, and an avid music and sports fan!

Chase Whittaker

Paralegal // Student Attorney

Chase is an alumnus of San Diego State University, where he earned degrees in Public Health and Political Science; University of California San Diego - Extension, where he received ABA-certification as a paralegal; and is currently attending UR Law. While at UR Law, Chase has worked with the Children's Defense Clinic and Aging & Disability Law Practicum.

When working with us, you'll most likely work with Chase on medical malpractice, custody & visitation, guardian ad litem, divorce, and guardianship and conservatorship cases.

When not working with the Firm, Chase is a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected kids in Henrico, enjoys taking his dogs on hikes, and traveling - 24 countries, 6 continents, and counting!

Ahuna Johnson

Legal Assistant // Student Attorney

Ahuna joined the McClung & Associates team in 2021 during her final year of law school at the University of Richmond School of Law. Prior to pursing law, Ahuna served as the Deputy Director for the Spotsylvania County Department of Social Services - overseeing abuse and neglect investigations for several years. She's now using her in-depth knowledge of the system to help kids and families working with DSS across the Commonwealth.

Since her arrival at UR Law, Ahuna has represented individuals with the Virginia Parole Board with the Children's Defense Clinic, worked with the Fredericksburg County Public Defender, served on the UR Law Honor Council, and volunteered with the Richmond Women's Law group.

When working with us, you'll most likely work with Ahuna on cases involving social services, criminal charges, or allegations of abuse and neglect. 

Outside of work, Ahuna enjoys traveling, playing with her dog and cat, and cooking!
